Last Friday I went and saw Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (aka Jay and Silent Bob) at the State Theatre. Smith directed one of my favourite movies Mallrats – its very rare to find a movie that throws in cool comic book related jokes. Anyway, couldn’t find any takers to come with me so went on my own.
When you’re in a situation like that it comes in handy being able to sketch as it whiles away the waiting time. It was also held in the beautiful State Theatre so plenty to draw. I am amazed I got a bit of Kevin Smith’s likeness as I was sitting closer to the back. I loved his expressive hands, they reminded me of the kind you see in old school Jack Kirby illustrations.
Great meegan. Really cool!
Now, if I could get Kevin Smith and Jack Kirby at a round table with Bruce Timms and Don Bluth…..
Hi Megan, I don’t know how else to contact you, but i was wondering if you could drop me an email, it’s regarding one of your designs and getting it as present for my boyfriend. Basically, he got me the Cookie Monster print t-shirt and keeps going on about how much he loves the design so I thought i’d get it printed as an A2 poster for him. I found a picture of the design on google images however the resolution is extremely poor scaled up to that size. I was wondering if there was any way you could send me the original photo of the design?
Anyway, would be great to hear from you!
Many thanks,
Amelia
Hi Amelia,
Yeah the reason you can only download a lo-res image is to protect my copyright of my artwork. I’m happy to send you a hi-res version for a small fee, but I will also need you to sign a contract that simply states you won’t use it for commercial purposes.
let me know if you are okay with that.
thanks
Meegan
