It all happened so fast

December flew by and I had a small collection of drawings I did over that time, plus some from the last few days.  Collectively they’re all a little random but it ends another sketchbook at last. Only took me a whole year and eight days.

My dad’s long drawn out stay at RPA to have a kidney procedure.

Out at my local park with my mum. The rocket ship is the only thing that remains from my childhood.

The Festival of Sydney opening event – a big rubber ducky all the way from Holland.

And finally, one of the best bands I’ve seen in a long time… The Hives at the Metro. Their facial expressions are a sketcher’s paradise.

(Please try really hard to “see” this picture – bar man serving drinks seconds before the band comes on.)

  1. Meegan, these are all WONDERFUL – I utterly love them. In particular I love the watercolour and line mix of the first hospital picture (how great to be able to draw beauty out of what must have been a difficult time for you all) and I love the back views of the folks sitting on the dock. Bar picture full of life and urgency too! Really gorgeous sketches – hope you get time to post more soon 🙂

    1. Thanks, Jules. I think you are ready to jump in the deep end and play with colour – your brush work seems quite confident already! Remember, its just a piece of paper – its scared of you more than you are of it, ha, ha! Cheers!
